Steelix resemble giant snakes. they are close relitives to the Onix having the same ooz that gives them that rocky surface, but unlike Onix Steelix have little appendages to help move though sand. Young Steelix are born in the mountains but spend there adult lives in deserts. Do to life in the desert they move alot, there slithering and "swiming" in the sand causes their rocks to be polished and sanded down to a smooth texture making them a reflective, silvery gray, which due to life in the desert reflects the sunlight making them shine slightly. during mating season the adult steelix migrate to the nearest mountain range where they laiy there eggs and leave, leaving the young to fend for them selves.
